Tisa grew up one block away from the beach in Hermosa Beach, CA. She then moved up north and settled in the Bay Area. She opened her first acupuncture practice in San Francisco and started the Alumni Clinic at her graduate school. While in school, she interned at a methadone clinic in Oakland where she facilitated group acupuncture. Tisa eventually moved further north, to Oregon, where she lived for several years before coming back home to Southern California. Tisa has worked with many different health care providers including MD’s, PA’s, Chiropractors, Social Workers, Therapists, Counselors and Nutritionists. She has worked in chronic pain clinics, drug and alcohol treatment centers and at St. Charles Hospital in Bend, Oregon.
She helps provide group and individual acupuncture at ESL. She is also a Certified Mindfulness Meditation Teacher, being certified from the Awareness Training Institute and the Greater Good Science Center affiliated with UC Berkeley. Tisa loves teaching and facilitating mindfulness meditation groups here at ESL, at her private practice, and at other corporations in the area.
Tisa has worked in mental health and recovery since 2008 . She is passionate about helping people learn different techniques to calm their nervous systems, learn to be more compassionate to themselves and learn to be more comfortable in their bodies. She offers self care education on acupressure, reiki, breath work, mindfulness, self compassion, qi gong, aromatherapy and positive mind set.
Tisa is also a provider with the Veterans Administration and has seen how these healing modalities can help people with PTSD, anxiety, depression, OCD and other mental health and substance abuse issues. Tisa feels blessed to be a part of the incredible team at ESL. She has been with our company since 2017 and gets great fulfillment in helping provide care for our patients. When she is not working, you can find her hiking with her husband and her dog, at the beach with her friends, or meditating anywhere she may be!
